Travel Alert: The Glacier Point Ski Hut will not open for the 2022-23 season due to lack of power. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we encourage you to come enjoy a winter visit to Yosemite National Park. The Nordic Center at Badger Pass Ski Area is scheduled to operate as usual, including the Glacier Point Ski Trail, with cross-country ski rentals, lessons and snowshoeing opportunities. One of the most gorgeous and breathtaking sites in the Sierra Nevada region is the Ski Hut at Glacier Point. From this viewpoint, you'll overlook Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, and the Yosemite High Country. Open from December through March, Glacier Point Road is groomed beyond The Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area. While it is possible to ski the 21-mile round trip to the Hut and back in one day, many guests like to explore Glacier Point longer and stay at Glacier Point Ski Hut overnight. Reservations are required, and the Hut is only open in the winter.
The 10.5-mile guided cross-country ski trip will be on groomed terrain, and take you through the stunning Yosemite backcountry. Once you arrive, the rustic accommodations in the stone and log building may very well entice you to spend the night. Experienced cross-country skiers can do the entire round-trip and 4 to 5 hours. Children must be at least 14 and accompanied by an adult to stay at Glacier Point Ski Hut.
